Luisa Mitchell
Luisa is a writer, filmmaker and producer of Whadjuk Nyungar and European heritage born and raised in Broome, WA. Luisa’s fiction writing has been published in print and online and her most recent fantasy screenplay was published in the anthology, Under The Paving Stones, The Beach. She was recently selected for the competitive Australian Writer’s Guild’s First Break program for emerging screenwriters.

Jay Anderson
Jay is a queer writer of colour living and working in Boorloo on the sovereign lands of the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation. Jay completed his Bachelor of Arts and Master of Research at Curtin University and he has worked in the publishing industry and arts sector in various roles. Jay’s writing has been published in several online journals and print anthologies, and he co-founded Pulch Mag, a West Australian youth publication. Jay is Centre for Stories’ Producer and Events Coordinator, he is currently completing his Master of Social Work, and he’s interested in how storytelling can be used as a tool for social justice.
CO-FOUNDER AND FORMER GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Chris Leopardi
Chris is a pasta-loving, red-headed, travel bug, creating designs in Perth, WA. He’s a multi-disciplinary designer who studied Graphic Design and Creative Advertising at Curtin University. Over his career, he’s been lucky enough to work with the likes of the Fremantle Dockers, Curtin University, Seven West Media and Kirrikin Australia. From 2017-2019, he was the Head of Design at Curtin’s student-run publication, Grok Magazine. In 2020, he had the privilege of working with WA youth publication, Pulch Mag, creating their brand and help design the first edition of the print magazine in 2021. He’s thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to work on these projects and with brands that champion creativity and big ideas, promote inclusivity and youth creative development, and all while working with passionate, talented people.

Sophie Minissale
Sophie is an artist, editor, and radio presenter living in Boorloo (Perth). She boasts an incredibly diverse and exceptional art practice including photography, editing, videography, and writing primarily for stage. They have been involved in Pulch Mag since 2020 as an assistant editor, taking leadership as Head Editor in 2021, and in 2022 have undertaken the role of Project Manager while also assisting with the editing of the issue.

Lauren Pratt
Lauren is an editor and publisher based in Boorloo, Western Australia. Lauren works for UWA Publishing and has previously worked with the Katharine Susannah Prichard Writers Centre, the Centre for Stories and Night Parrot Press. Lauren was the assistant editor of the first print edition of Pulch.

Mohammed “Ayo” Busari
Ayo is a Nigerian award-winning Creative Director, Visual Artist, Writer, Community Curator & Performer who is the founder and lead creative of TAB Family. Previously living and working in Nigeria and the UK, he is now based in Boorloo. As a creative artist, Ayo Busari, alongside his alter-ego, ‘Yoruba Daddy’, are all about capturing moments and memories through words, images, and sounds. Whether it be photography, filmmaking, music-making, designing, live performances or writing. He’s an all-around multidisciplinary creative, expressing himself through these different art forms and genres.

Sofia Scaturro
Sofia is a writer and editor who has just finished her Professional Writing and Publishing degree. She loves all things history, queer & vintage. You’ll often find her knitting away at something she isn’t going to finish if she’s not reading. She enjoys writing poetry, personal essays, and short stories about mental health, loss, memory and love.

Savannah Lysaght
Savannah is a graphic designer and illustrator living in Boorloo (Perth). Born and raised in the South-West, Sav moved to Melbourne to study for an Undergraduate in Design at the University of Melbourne. She has since moved back to her roots in WA, starting up her own freelance design studio, Studio Sav. Her art and work are grounded in storytelling, reflecting her connection to nature, the coast and the community.

Mia Preto
Mia is currently a UWA undergrad who is just about to complete her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Sociology. She is also about to start a Masters of Teaching at ECU which she can’t wait for. Although she’s originally from Singapore, she moved to Perth about two years ago to study at UWA and try out something new. Mia’s favourite things include travelling, finding and going to cool gigs, and cooking for the people she loves. Mia strongly believes that Pulch Mag has a really important role to play in providing young creatives the opportunities to have themselves seen. Helping publish Pulch Issue Two last year, and working with the contributors of said edition was one of the highlights of Mia’s whole time in Perth.

Jacki Elezovich
Jacki is a third-year Journalism and Publishing student at Curtin University. She is an avid daydreamer and strong believer in the power of storytelling, with a love for everyday beauty and the natural world. While not in university classes, she can usually be found at the beach or in her local second-hand bookstore.

Madeleine Blasco
Madeleine is a graduate in Professional Writing and Publishing from Curtin University. They have since dipped their toes in the many facets of the publishing world, from crafting press releases for local artists and editing friends’ manuscripts to having their own work published in Westerly.
Madeleine is excited to plunge deeper into the publishing industry and to keep themself consistently immersed through working closely with other writers and editors.

Adam Matthews
Adam is a book industry professional from Boorloo with a passion for uplifting emerging queer voices. He joined the Fremantle Press’ sales and marketing department as a publicist in 2023. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Writing and Publishing at Curtin University and worked as a sales and marketing assistant for Boffins Books.

Mia Kelly
Mia works as a Notetaker for Curtin University during semesters and bartends at the Fringe Festival in the summer. She is a previous President of UWA’s Creative Writing Club, and has completed a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in English and Cultural Studies. When she’s not editing, Mia writes, and has previously been published in Westerly and Pulch. In her free time, you can find her at the gym, playing roller hockey, hiking, kayaking, rogaining, or bouldering — anything other than sitting still, unless a good book is involved.

Rachel Denham-White
Rachel is a first-year postgrad student with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UWA, and is currently majoring in Professional Writing and Publishing. She has written for Westerly, Limina, Voiceworks and Good Reading Magazine, and is a lover of horror, especially eco-horror, body-horror and all things gothic. When she’s not writing or editing, she can be found playing D&D.

Taonga Sendama
Taonga is a Bachelor of Arts student majoring in Creative Writing and Public Relations. She is a multimedia artist whose work seeks to build community connections through collaborations with local and international artists, and provide a space of healing and familiarity for others.

Isabelle Biondi Saville
Isabelle is a writer from Boorloo. She has been published in several print and online journals, and was long listed for Best Australian Yarn in 2024. Isabelle was previously an editor for Curtin Writers Club and a reviewer for Fringe World. She believes in the beauty and power of words and their ability to connect people from all walks of life. When she isn’t writing, reading or editing, you will often find her winding up her cats or going for long walks.

Hannah Reynolds
Hannah writes on Whadjuk Noongar Boodja. Her work has appeared in Westerly Magazine, Artery Magazine, and her own publication, Choking Hazard. She is currently undertaking an Honours dissertation in English and Literary Studies at UWA, and is writing one half of a bi-authored novel — which takes the form of a Hegelian dialectic — about skimpy waitressing.

Janella Nicoli
Janella is an emerging writer, editor and academic. She is currently studying English and Literary Studies and Creative Writing at UWA. Alongside being a 2025 editor for Pulch Mag, Janella has had her work published in Damsel Magazine, and has won several literary awards including the Amy Jane Best Prize in Literature.

Alexander Hazell
Alexander is an editor, writer and Englishman who has had his poetry published in Coze Journal. Along with being Curtin Writers Club’s Editor-in-Chief for 2025, he is undertaking a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Writing and Publishing and History. Alexander also works as a junior bookseller at QBD Books.

James Stanwix
James is a writer, student and baker working in Walyalup/Fremantle. He co-produces the zine Choking Hazard, edits a creating writing column in the Fremantle Herald, and runs a poetry night at the Buffalo Club called ‘Hem’. Their work has been published in Westerly Magazine, Cordite and elsewhere. They are currently completing an Honours that collides double exposure photography and prose poetry at UWA.

Ellie Fisher
Ellie is a writer, editor and doctoral student. Her work has appeared in Westerly Magazine, Pulch Mag, Gem Zine, Night Parrot Press and Swim Meet Lit Mag, amongst others. They are a PhD candidate in Creative Writing at UWA, researching feminist autotheory, écriture féminine, and the possibilities of textural intimacy in hybrid nonfiction. She splits her time between Kinjarling and Boorloo.

Sidney Blake-Stanbury
Sidney is a writer and emerging editor with a bachelors degree from Curtin University, having majored in Creative Writing and minored in Asian Studies. Alongside editing for Pulch Mag, she’s currently working on her own emerging-adult novel, writing about small town Australia and exploring the complex journey of ‘almost-adulthood’. She currently has one publication as an editor and illustrator for Puppy Tails (2016) by Pat Torpy.

Amity Smith
Amity is an emerging writer based in Perth, Western Australia. She is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in English Literary studies, with a minor in Creative Writing at UWA. Her writing delves into the complexities of human relationships and the impact of memory on the present. Amity is particularly inspired by authors like Albert Camus and Franz Kafka, drawing from the absurdist movement and surrealism to explore themes of existential uncertainty and its influence on the human condition. She has gained experience through internships with Westerly Magazine and the Fellowship of Australian Writers WA. Alongside being an editor for Pulch Mag, Amity is also a sub-editor for literature at Pelican Magazine, where her work has also been published.
